Solve : Power Supply Maybe??

Answer»

Last night my computer just shut down and would not turn back on I checked the mother board it didn't look burned or no black marks and the green light was on.

So I am PRETTY sure the mother board is OK.

I did FIND a melted piece of plastic in the fan of the Power Supply, so I am thinking thats the problem, but if its the power supply why is there lights WORKING on the mother board?

I opened up the power supply and did not see any damage.

But on the other hand the Power Supply was really hot so I guess it burned out.

Anyways I just wanted a second opinion on the subject before I SPEND money on a power supply rather than SOMETHING else I need. Quote

Everything you said, says Power Supply.  PS has more than one output voltage, which is why lights are on.
