Answer» I have a new Cool Max 650w PS, and the 24v plug is 4 pin, my board is 8 pin. It WORKS ok, but I wanting a new MB, and the one I want is 8 pin also,....is this a major ISSUE? Is there an adaptor?I suspect that your psu does have the 8 pin plug - but it's 2 x 4 that you 'clip' together.
