Just got a new GEforce card and I am told than my power supply needs UPGRADING, what I am trying to find out is that I have a CABLE that is not on my new supply, there are 3 cables a white, blue and black in a small brown connector that gos onto the m/broad just above the power supply 20/24 connector.
any help and I would be very grateful

ps I LEFT this connector off and the pc seems to run OK !! could it be some sort of sensor, over heating of the power supply maybe !! and if so do I need it
pps My pc is a sony VAIO PCV RX514 decktopSounds like that may be for the CPU fan. As long as you have a fan on your processor... and it's spinning, you're ok. That could ALSO be for a case fan.
