So I have an acer aspire 3680 and the computer was completely shutting down all of the sudden by itself like a month ago. Now it will turn on for about 10 seconds then shut down again. The CHARGER is new and good. That or the actual power lead to the MBoard needs repaired.

Call some local shops for estimates...this is NOT a DIY repair generally...The battery hasn't worked for a MINUTE. I know how to solder as well.MBoards are not just regular soldering skills on account of the MULTIPLE layers but i'm not questioning your skills here...just making SURE you know what's involved.
