Answer» Hi everyone, I have simple question but I'm unable to google: does laptop still use power when I power it off and plug CHARGER in but battery is fully charged? If the power button is off and the battery has a full charge, the flowing takes place whle the power cord is in the mains. Always leaving a laptop computer plugged in, even when it's fully charged, can use a similar quantity — 4.5 kilowatt-hours of electricity in a week, or about 235 kilowatt-hours a year. I just do not like the idea of letting something suck even a tiny bit of juice. I have four laptops on-hand and they all show a draw of between 6 watts to 12 watts when plugged in, with a full battery, and turned off. I don't have any that approach the figures Geek-99pm found cited, which I believe would need to have a consumption of about twice the highest I measured. |
