Hi,  I am an amateur computer builder and I have just FINISHED a complete and for the first time in my life, the powere will not come on.  I have tried everything i can think of, including replacing power cable, reconnecting everything, MAKING sure everyhing is connectied properly, ETC.  and nothing.  I push the power button and nothing.  I am USING a coolermaster Extreeme 500 on a Gigabyate Z68M motherboard.  Nothing happens, nothing.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!  sjpelhamThis is not an easy problem to solve. I would 1st TRY the PSU in another computer to verify that it works. Then i would probably verify that the heatsink on the MOBO is properly insulated with thermal paste. Then with only the bare minimum hardware see what happens. You will need to get something working before any additional progress can be achieved. truenorth
P.S For testing purposes you could bypass the power switch and use the power cord as the switch to eliminate a faulty switch.make sure the voltage is the right before its to lateYou may safely ignore any advice from computer 12
