Answer» I recently purchased a Dell PowerVault 725n. It did not include any hard drives or caddys. I am looking at the interface that the hard drive uses and to be honest I have absoutly no idea wht kind of CABLE I need to connect it with. My research SAYS it uses IDE interface.
I also tracked down this link.
Any help is GREATLY appriciated. If it's a flat ribbon cable it is an IDE interface... If it's a skinny usually red cable it is a SATA interface...
But the MBoard may have both options. Not SATA, not IDE. I'll see if I can get a photo.SCSI Perhaps ? ?Nope. Not SCSI.
This interface baffels me. I am thinking its an adapter to IDE cables.

I appriciate the help guys. Now to GO find the camera.Okay, Here is a pic of the BACKPLANE with the unidentified connectors:
Now that I look at it more it appears to be fibrechannel. Anyone want to confirm, I haven't worked with fibrechannel before.Hard to tell from that pick but those look to be SATA connectors...
That machine is a NAS server
