I know this is really stupid and I should have known better, but I panicked.
I have a Dell Dimension 2400, Pentium 4, windows xp, service pack 3.
I have been having problems with the hard drive I had, decided to install windows on the second hard drive (took out the 1st one) I installed windows, drivers, microsoft updates, etc.
I have a EVGA 6200 graphics card and decided to load those drivers, well after I did that and rebooted the screen was black, so I went to the website and found an answer that said to change the BIOS setting, well I changed the wrong one.
What I did is pressed the F2 key and in that monitor setting changed it from auto to the other option (which I can't remember exactly what it said) something like "ONBOARD". Now I don't even get a signal to the monitor, can I undo this terribly stupid thing or have I completely shut down my motherboard seeing the monitor?
I thought maybe if I could see a pic of the F2 screen I could undo it WITHOUT using the monitor, just arrow down X amount of times to get to that COMMAND?

Please help.Well, I talked to Dell and they said because i have it PLUGGED into the graphics card and I changed the setting to onboard, it's looking for it's original graphics card. so if i connect it to the computer, instead of the graphics card I should get a signal then change the setting back. I just don't have that connector here, i have to go get one. will let you know, in CASE anyone else does this.ok, it worked. found 3 cords for $2.00 at a yard sale - lucky me. was able to connect that way, and change back the BIOS.
I still have the black screen, but now I can get to the BIOS to hopefully change the RIGHT one.
