Solve : Pretty big problem, Computer won't start.?

Answer»

Hey guys, I have a pretty big problem.

My computer won't start. It's extremely strange. Well, the strange part is that if I have any monitor plugged in to an outlet, and press the on/off button it turns green to say its on, but if I have it plugged into my computer the green LIGHT sits for a second and shuts off. I tried with about 3/4 computers and get the same result, so now I'm thinking the computer is fried.

A little history

Me and my roommate were pretty big on Civilization 4 and I was playing it one day on my computer, and the screen froze. I shut it off expecting to boot it back up only...it didn't.

I was wondering if there are any tips of trying to FIX it, or if I should bring it to a computer repair place.

Thanks all.

Check this out http://www.fonerbooks.com/video.htm
If that doesn't help try a different video card.
If you dont have one boot with video card out and then with video card in.
Sounds like video card possibly, try on-board video or a different monitor.

Also pull out and reinstall the memory and any other pci cards you may have installed to eliminate chip creep
