Answer» XP PC with HP deskjet printer. Why do 2 letters (2/3 of the way across the page) print with a double image? How ist it connected to the PC?The printer is hpdeskjet3820. Have had for years. It has started duplicating 2 letters and it is getting worse with each printing. It is conncted with a cable to the PC. Thanks for reply.It SOUNDS like an alignment error in the printer CARTAGES. Why can't you do a Print Test? It should do it automatically if you remove the ink cartages and them reinsert them. I click hp help, printer test and then it tells me there is an error and to send error report. I'll try taking out cartridges.Have taken out cartridges. Printer just returns to being READY to print WITHOUT doing a test. Try to uninstall the driver and then reinstall it again.. Also try to make sure that the cable connecting your printer to the pc isn't damaged. Try to clean the ends (or terminals(?)) as well.
