When trying to print an online page I have just had an error message - "Printing failed when STARTING the document" - this came immediately on top of the print preparation window. It happens with other web pages that I've tried. This has just happened out of the blue. Offline printing is ok.

Any advice?

I have Lexmark 1180 all in one.
AOL Broadband connection.
Firefox.
Are you saving the web page to the HDD before attempting to print it ? ?
It should work both ways but give this a try...THANKS for reply Patio. I hadn't been saving the page, just printing.

I seem to have found the answer to my problem though, after mucking about trying different things.

I found that things were ok USING IE rather that Firefox, then realising it must be some sort of setting error, I found in the print status menu window the printer name had options and mine had somehow been changed to "FAMILY Tree Maker Printer" (I had wanted a page from their website). When I changed the option back to Lexmark X1100 all was well. I don't know how the option came to be changed - never any problem before.

Incidentally, I didn't find any reference to printer options in any of the help menus that I tried.

Anyway all ok now.It sounds LIKE Family tree maker printer runs the printer while printing online...
