Solve : Printer Head cleaning? |

Answer» My Epson Stylus 750 goes into head cleaning mode at switch on. but not every time. Sometimes it is after 3 or 4 switch on's. It is using my inks at a fair rate. I have no sense from Epson.I don't know what that means, but you should be contacting Epson.I have sent 3 emails to Epson and contacted their Forum and received no repliesUnited States Phone Number: (562)276-7226 Hours: Mon.- Fri. 6AM-6PM (PT) Sat. 7AM-4PM (PT) Canada Phone Number: (905)709-2567 Hours: Mon.- Fri. 6AM-6PM (PT) Quote from: Epson This product is discontinued Quote from: PC Pro Review Date: 1 Feb 1999 Get real. It is life-expired. Buy another printer. If it's an "inkjet" printer, power the printer on/off using the switch on the printer, not the on/off switch of a power strip. Somehow, by using the printer's own on/off switch; it is smart enough to "park" the print head in such a way as to minimize inkjet clogging between computer sessions. I cannot find a printer control panel to turn off auto head cleaning. I am trying to cure it by switching the printer off at it's on board switch as suggested, only time will tell. I am 83 years old and a pensioner not an INVESTMENT banker so buying a new printer is a difficult decision to make. Will I get my monies worth, what do I do without etc. etc. so I put up with buying more cheap ink and trying to cure the head cleaning problem. Thank you all again, at least I get a reply from the Forum unlike Epson. Quote from: Kiteman1502 on January 14, 2010, 01:48:46 PM I cannot find a printer control panel to turn off auto head cleaning. You could try Start Menu > Printers and faxes... > select your printer > choose Properties and look for a "Maintenance" tab or button Kiteman 1502, While you have been given some excellent advice from other forum members re the current problem. If you do get that printer working without the current issue still evident i have a suggestion that can tremendously reduce the ink cost component of the Epson printer you have. I won't go into it here as i am not certain you are out of the woods YET with that older printer. But if and when you are if you PM me i will forward my suggestion to you. By the way it was kind of Allan to provide you with the Epson North American phone numbers. However you should be aware that on any of their printers if you use the phone tech support they charge by the minute on any out of warranty issues (with absolutely no guaranty of solving the problem). truenorth Quote from: truenorth on January 14, 2010, 03:00:12 PM i have a suggestion that can tremendously reduce the ink cost component of the Epson printer you have. Either it's fit to be posted on the forum or it shouldn't be discussed HERE at all.Allan, With all due respect DO NOT BE SO PARANOID. Of course it is fit to print (and has been done many TIMES before on this very forum with great satisfaction by the recipient). But you will note this suggestion deviates from the OP's original problem/issue and therefore given that he/she may EVENTUALLY decide to get rid of this printer taking the time and space to deal with that (responding to the costs concerns of the OP) can be addressed with him/her directly. If you want to know what i will be advising i invite you also to PM me and i will gladly provide the same advice to you. You should know by now that i have NEVER been an advocate of "illegal" pratices. Also alternatively you can create a post with the subject being "how to save on ink jet ink costs and i (and perhaps others will have suggestions).truenorth Quote from: truenorth on January 14, 2010, 03:16:30 PM If you want to know what i will be advising i invite you also to PM me and i will gladly provide the same advice to you.Nope - you know what? It's really none of my business. Sorry I posted in the first place.forgiven, truenorth |
