Answer» Hi,
I have got this trouble with the printer CANON ImageClass MPC600F. I was trying to connect it to a PC. It should be such a easy job but seems to be unable to get the connection happening. It's KINDA old printer and i have even lost the CD installation. So i went to download the printer driver from the internet and found one.
I made sure to connect it to my PC directly via USB cable and then run the setup.exe from the driver file. It kept saying it did not see it while searching. I took a printscreen of it and attached it to this post.
I have ALSO tried to run the new found hardware wizard but to no avail.
My PC runs on XP Pro.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance
[recovering space - attachment deleted by admin]From my EXPERIENCE, I suggest trying to install the driver software before connecting the printer. See if that helps.Thank you Aegis for your reply.
I suppose the one i downloaded was the printer driver. Here is the link

How can i install the driver first before connecting to the printer when it STARTS searching for the printer? i'm not 100% sure i have downloaded the right one. Yes, you're right, i agreed with you with the fact that we should install the software first before the hardware.
I have searched for the driver but so far can only find that site as stated above that i think would help me.
Thank you in advanceYour download is correct one. Quote when it starts searching for the printer? What does, and when?
