Answer» Hi, I couldn't find anything about my problem, PROBABLY because I'm not sure exactly how to search for it.
I have a 1.5TB external HARD drive (only a few months old), connected to my vista laptop via USB. It has a large amount of data on it 800GB+, mostly in a videos folder. I can acess all the other folders, and files, however whenever I try to access the videos folder, I get a message telling me that the drive needs to be unformatted. I was using this drive with no problems up until yesterday.
I have tried looking at the folders permissions and all seem fine - I'm a bit confused because it is just the one folder, the others seem fine. I have also tried running the error checker, and rebooting ETC, but I am way out of my depth here.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!
Thanks
abiits probably the SIZE of the file Is drive formatted FAT32 or NTFS? FAT32 file size is limited to 4GB minus 2 Bytes. NTFS limit only by volume size.Quote from: abagail on June 10, 2010, 12:06:40 AM I get a message telling me that the drive needs to be unformatted. Unformatted? Really?
