Answer» I came downstairs and turned the computer on so it would boot up whilst I was having BREAKFAST. When I came in to the STUDY after having breakfast, the computer hadn't booted up. But the hard drive LIGHT has come on and stayed on, and one of the lights on the CD drive has come on and stayed on.
When I press the button to turn it on nothing happens, when I hold it in, nothing happens, when I turn it off at the wall and turn it on again the lights come back on and stay on.
What do I do?Just check that your monitor cable is pluged in
There is no sound coming from the tower, the keyboard isn't on (neither is the mouse because it's plugged in to the keyboard).
The monitor is plugged in properly, but it can't show anything if the PC hasn't booted up properly Can you boot with your install disk?I can't even boot up the PC, so i'm unable to open the disc-drives.
Even if I turn it off at the power supply and turn it on again, the lights come back on, so I'm unable to boot up the PC at all. Could be a power supply issue !,
can you try a DIFFERENT cable into the tower ?I've changed the power supply, the opposite has happened, I've pressed the button and only the green light has come on, there is still little/no noise coming from the towerYou PSU might have blown is there any way for you to try a new psu in you computer ?
Is the fan spinning on your CPU ?We don't have another PC in the HOUSE
and no the fan is not spinningI reckon you need a new psu then
