Answer» When i start my computer up the hard drive button starts up but the power button DOESNT light up and the monitor just goes into stand by what could be wrong?How old is the computer? Just recently after i used and shut it down normaly it just wouldnt do anything but turn on.remove ALL cables from the rear of the base unit. Hold the power button in for 20 seconds, then reconnect power, video, mouse and keyboard and try starting up again. Do you get the POST beep on starting it up?noAnd if you haven't already done so... Put the voltage switch back to where it was originally! (110 or 220). DelIve changed the motherboard but the thing still doesnt start up the monitor.
