Solve : problem with boot up?

Answer»

i have a p4 running windows xp pro sp3....a while ago i installed a slave drive, which ran fine for about a week. i ended up with the BSOD....thanks to the forums i added a 1g MEMORY to the motherboard.....when i BOOT, windows wont load....i no longer have the xp pro install disk, but i have the local computer store make one for me.....now i get as far as windows asking for a ASR floppy disk (for which i done have). any advise as to what i can do now? thanks. You need to set the CD drive as the primary master in the BIOS. F1 or F2 will get you into the BIOS.

Then you will need to look for what is Primary Master and Secondary Master, Make your CD/DVD drive your Primary Master and your Hard Disk your Secondary Master. This is done by using the arrow keys to navigate and to select. I hope this helps. I would not do this if you have never worked in your BIOS before. If this is the first time let the computer shop do the work.cd is set to primary with floppy set as secondary, hard drive is disabled
Set the hard drive as secondary master and set the floppy drive as secondary slave.
