Answer» I'm having a stange problem. I have one hard DRIVE and dvd drive connected to one ide controller and another hard drive connected to a separte pci ide controller. Anytime I try to CALCULATE md5 or sha1sums on files approx. over 100mb they come up incorrect, EVEN for files on the cdrom which i verified on another computer. When I try to boot from Fedora 4 cd I get a crc error, but I verified the sha1sum on my laptop and the installer loads fine on the laptop. The system is currently running Suse Linux 9.3, but I also installed Kubuntu 5.04 and had the same results even after formating. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated because I am at a loss right now.maybe it may PAY to post it in linux post.
