Solve : Problem with keyboard at startup? |
|
Answer» I built my computer at least a year ago and recently decided to make some upgrades by switching to a new motherboard and case. I haven't had any problems in the past with the computer but SINCE using the new motherboard, I have been having issues with the keyboard at startup. After FIRST installing the new motherboard, I sent it back and had it replaced thinking that it was something wrong with the motherboard, but I am still getting the error. Basically, when it goes to the motherboard screen, my keyboard fails to work and prevents the computer from booting the os. I tried another keyboard (knowing that both of them work on other SYSTEMS) and both came up with the same error. What makes the problem even more bizzare is that the f-lock on the keyboard (extra key to allow another set of controls on the f-buttons) is always able to be turned on/off, even when it doesn't work, but the caps, num, and scroll do not. I thought that it was a grounding problem and tried removing the I/O panel from the back but that did not help. I then carefully examined it and made sure that the metal pieces were touching where they should and not where they shouldn't. My specs are as follows, keeping in mind that everything other than the motherboard is in working condition |
