Solve : Problem with optical drive?

Answer»

While ripping a cd on my laptop, there was a loud buzzing NOISE like the disc was out of balance. The disc stopped playing, and now I can't get it to eject. I think the disc is wedged between the door and the interior of the drive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Quote

Anyways, is this a Laptop or Desktop?

On the CD Drive, there should be a small hole. Get a paper clip and put it into that hole and push it in (you have to use force). This is the manual CD Release.Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on August 26, 2008, 04:08:40 AM

Evening here. Must be getting tired. Thanks for the info. I tried the paper clip method, but the disc was wedged in the drive and wouldn't move. After inspecting the bottom of the computer I found the mounting SCREW for the drive. After removing this the entire drive slid out and I was able to retrieve the disc. Did the disc blow up in the drive? No, it jumped of the spindle and was loose inside the computer. Heh, strange....

All better?Yes! All is well in computing land. Thanks again for the outstanding advice. No problem.
