Answer» I am trying to partition a drive in a sony vaio laptop (win 2000 pro. Pentium 3) with its system recovery discs. It gives me this message: The hard drive is not partitioned. This utility creates DOS partitions and restarts your computer. If you see this message again, it may be caused by non-DOS partitions on the drive. You must delete the non-DOS partitions to proceed. Do you wish to continue? so I say yes and then it says error that no fixed disks are present. So I go through the process again. I assume I have to ERASE those partitions, but I'm not sure how. Any thoughts?It being a laptop is probably SPOTTING a hidden partition containing the recovery FILES for the laptop...have you visited the manuf. site or is it OK if you wipe the entire drive at this point ? ?
