Solve : problems with a new PC?

Answer»

I just got brand new parts for a new gaming computer. AMD Phenom, Asus MB, 9800 GT video card, the works. Everything seems to be plugged in to the right spots, everything is compatable, and it gets power to start up just fine........but my computer monitor isn't GETTING any kind of a signal from the video card.

The video card is getting power, cause the FAN is running and there is a light on it, and I TRIED my old 6800 GT on it as well and got the same problem. The only thing i can think of is that the PCI- EXPRESS 2.0 slots on the MB are not working. Can anyone help me out!? Does the motherboard have onboard video?Have you tried another monitor?Your graphics card should a have a built in 4 pin power connector. I don't know if you know about it being there but i had the same problem with that card because i didn't know about the power connector, so i don't know if thats the case for you but you might want to CHECK that out
