Laptop working. then stopped You Can turn on and hear fan running but nothing on screen. or when you hit any keys.. Any ADVICE hit the caps lock key>>>..did it stop when you were using it?.......or did you leave it and then come back to this black screen!It froze so I hit ctrl alt Del the screen went black and it has not come on since.shutdown laptop........and restart it.......the chdsk   blue sceen should appear..What is CHDSK?when  a pc is not shutdown properly......via start menu ...and is shutdown by switching off the power via the off switch or mains switch .......the next time winxp etc will run a disk check......or check disk  or scandisk...to check file coruption etc..Have tried that Still nothing, the lights do not come on anymore either (DATA lights, cap locks etc,) The fan is still running, Do you THINK it could be serious??

The laptop is only 16 months old
Have tried plugging in a monitor to see if it was the screen that was the problem but still nothing
ok.......is seems that the warrenty has run out out.....has it?are you mec minded??Yes warranty run out. Not really mecanically minded, the wife is!! We thought it might be the hard DRIVE??
