Answer» Right now i have a "amd ATHLON xp 2200+ mmx 1.8 Gig" processor and i want to KNOW if it is possible to simply buy a better processor and just put it in. If you can is it PLUG and play like ram, or does it require some instalation like a graphix card or some serious installation where you must know what you are doing? yeah simply plug n play, make sure you get the right socket cpu, im guessing its a socket A, all you have to do is take off the heatsink (the big silver piece of METAL with a fan on it) undo the leaver (if U have 1) take out the square looking chip and replace it with your new one, and reattach the heatsink. and also look in your motherboard manual to see what model numbers it can hold. (instructions will be in their for the cpu)Sweet, thanx manTHe key is getting a compatible processor.Not any one will necessarily look. All the info is in the motherboard manual though.
