Solve : Processor Help?

Answer»

Which processor would you choose?

1. Intel®Pentium® dual-core processor E2140 (1MB L2,1.60GHz,800 FSB

2. AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+That depends on what the computer would be getting used for...Quote from: GX44 on December 14, 2007, 05:25:11 AM

That depends on what the computer would be getting used for...

That's not only a stupid answer, but also a very WRONG one.

The first choice is far superior when easily overclocked.Quote from: Jess607 on December 14, 2007, 07:45:18 AM

...And what if the OP doesn't know how to/want to overclock? Keep your snide comments to yourself.Quote from: Jess607 on December 14, 2007, 07:45:18 AM

Do a little AMD vs. Intel research. Results from different people for benchmarks and actual performance tests go different ways. SOMETIMES AMD, sometimes Intel. It's been that way since the beginning, and it's still that way with the dual-core processors. However, research does show that each processor handles the same task differently. Sometimes AMD would out-perform Intel at games, sometimes the other way around. It all depends on who did the test, the conditions of the test, the other hardware involved, blah blah blah.I think IM gona go with the intel.

Thanks for you inputQuote from: quaxo on December 14, 2007, 09:04:05 AM

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, do you?

Intel > AMD, Conroe > K8, Penryn > Phenom

That is the CURRENT reality. Choose to look at it or don't, but don't tell me what you'd like to see it as.As this thread has SPUN out of control and no longer serving any purpose the conversation is over.
