Solve : Processor to buy .. under Rs.9,000 (indian currency) or 184 USD?

Answer»

I am confused between the following PROCESSORS.

Intel i5 2320 (3 GHz, 4 core)
Intel i5 2400 (3.10 GHz, 4 core)
AMD phenom II X4 965 (3.4 GHz, 4 core)
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (2.8 GHz, 6 core)

I know that i5 2400 is better then i5 2320 and X6 is better then x6 but what I want to know is that :-
1) Which one gives best VALUE FOR MONEY

2) Which is best processor of the 4 without considering the cost FACTOR

3) If possible please let me know about a decent motherboard for your picks.

Thanksthe phenom II X4. it's what i have.

there is a better one though: www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103934

don't get the bulldozer. look in the computer news FORUM for info on it.http://www.anandtech.com/show/4310/amd-phenom-ii-x4-980-black-edition-review
The Phenom II X6 1055T will definitely be the fastest processor in most cases.
As for "bang for buck," the i5-2400 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074
is $189, only $20 more than the Phenom II X4 980 BE.
However, the Phenom II X6 1055T http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103851 is a mere $149.

You can get the Phenom II X6 1100T http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103913
for $189, which will beat all of these processors.

So I would suggest getting a Phenom II X6-more bang for the buck. A 1100T is the same price as the i5-2400, and outperforms it by a large margin.

If you want a best bang for buck motherboard for the processor I recommended, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157208
$124.  Be aware that it doesn't have integrated graphics.
