Solve : PSU screwing up a Mobo??

Answer»

I have a MOTHERBOARD that I had plugged into a PSU and was adding some new hardware that went over the PSUs capacity and then it shut off never to work again.
I plugged a different PSU into the motherboard and I think it ruined the mobo.
I also plugged the first PSU into another mobo and it no longer works either.
I have all these PARTS and I am WONDERING if a short can ruin them all.
This probably seems like a stupid bunch of things that I did but these are by no means quality parts. Just wanting to make a cheap linux box.
If this DOESNT make sense to anyone I will try to explain again.
Not looking for a super technical answer just wondering if a short will ruin other components.Shorting, power surge or static discharge could damage any component or even the motherboard. Its always best to know that most items being used were working before when swapping or putting together.I have seen three motherboards and PSUs ruined by one faulty video card. The first one, and the second and third systems that the owner put it into to "test" it.Well i can always take out some frustration on them. Thanks people. Anyway of TESTING these parts?
