Answer» I use Front Page, and my host is Netfirms, (Free) .. I have updated my Web a few times, but all of a sudden I am getting a message box. ... the only thing I done different was.. when I opened my web, I opened all pages.. instead of just the page I updated..!!.. hope I am making sense here. ? would that make a difference.?I don't think it would make a difference. Let us know if it happens again. Will do.. thanks. I will try both ways next time I update.Talisman..... When you do a website update .....exactly how are you doing it ? Are you opening up your site in IE ....... then clicking on the frontpage icon in the IE toolbar ....... then a box appears and you put in your username and password ........ then the root directory is downloaded and the page you clicked on ( when you opened your site) will be displayed ...... If thats not the page you wish to update...... simply find that one in the root directory ..... open it ....make the changes .......... and then click the save button and it will be saved and published....... now go back to your site , hit the refresh button and your changes will be there . dl65 MMM thanks dl65. well.. I have updated in two different ways.. usually.. (1) Open up my Front Page 2002.. then open my web.. then open the index.htm, or the page I want to update.. then I save.. then I go to Publish under File. Sometimes it publishes straight away without asking me for password etc. other times my sign in box will appear. Sometimes I open all pages in my web, but make sure I am in my index.htm when I publish.. (Dont know if it makes any difference) ? The second way I have published,.. open my web in I.E. go to the page I wish to update.. go to file.. and Edit with Microsoft FrontPage.. do my changes,.. then click Save. then refresh.. as you have just said above.. ! |
