Solve : Purchasing my first LCD Flat Panel Monitor? |
|
Answer» I am looking to buy an LCD FLAT Panel Monitor for my IBM computer. I am using Windows XP right now. I am CONFUSED as to what I should consider the most important factors when purchasing one. I was told by my local PC dealer to beware of buying the kind that has height adjustment and viewing adjustment because there is a bulb inside that can get jostled or BROKEN somehow when the monitor is moved around too much. So, what brand name is the best, what type is the best and what should I look for when buying? That is nonsense. Most if not all LCD monitors have viewing adjustment. Just don't abuse it and don't move it around too much! My LCD monitor has worked fine for 3 years of being adjusted 2 or 3 times a week. I personally like Sony monitors and at work we have VIEWSONIC which are OK too. At work, we buy only buy the NEC MultiSync LCD1970NX monitor. They're good monitors and have an easy menu and usb hub. They have swivel and height adjustment and the new ones even turn sideways. The PC Magazine editor says NEC, HP, Dell, and Samsung make the best monitors. What are you gonna use it for`? and how big was you thinkin of? widescreen?I have 19" Viewsonic VA 1930wm, and very happy with it. In general, pick up a STORE (better, then buying on-line), with many monitors on display. You'll see the difference right away. |
