Answer» Looking for another power adapter (the one that CAME with the HARD drive makes a buzzing sound when not in use and its annoying) for my seagate external hard drive and i need one that is compatible. I found one with its output: 12V 2A (1A Compatible) and my old one was a 12V 1.5 A. will that work?

It will only draw what it needs, so if the draw was 1.5 amps it would be fine. The biggest thing is if the plug end matches up or not. It should work, but SOMETIMES I have had to cut the end off the old power supply and connect it with proper polarity to the new power supply with shrink tube over the bare copper wire where it was added on to insulate it.
