Answer» i installed 4 gig of corsair ram , the specs say it is 2.1v imy 2 optical drives are not recognized How bout the jumper?Master/slave have been set?You can experience all sorts of issues if voltages aren't correct. Adjusting the voltage to 2.1V is easily done, and even if it does not solve your issue it's one variable eliminated. To change the setting, refer to your motherboard's manual.guys....everything was working fine until i changed the ram and installed an evga geforce 9300 gt VIDEO card......did both of these t the same time......didnt use the drves for a couple days but when i tried they werent workng, have the yellow ? in device manager.... mother BOARD is dell oyc523 chipset i945p on NORTH and ich7/r on south, dell bios a03, the ram is set at 5,5,5,15,21 this was my backup machine until i shorted out the motherbord on my main computer....i then upgraded ram and gpu and mad this my main......but since it's acting hokey i dont like it or trust it......so i want to make this the backup again and i will build my own for a main in about 2 weeks......i'll get more bang for the buck and will be able to build a much nicer system..... meanwhile , i was wondering if i should even try to get these frives working again, or cut my losses here and deal with it.....by the way, i also had did a reinstall of xp about a week before all this, everything was good after that until i did the upgrades......i also feel the machine is slower than what it should beWhat wattage is your power supply?..... Download and install.guys, i found this on another site, followed instructions and it worked......just an fyi "DVD drives don't have specific drivers under windows. If it isn't operating correctly, it could be due to filter issues or your ASPI layer could be gerfunkled. WinXP manual steps to delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values that can cause CD access problems; Warning ! Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry EDITOR or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. To manually delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values, follow these steps: 1. Start Registry Editor (Start, Run, Regedit) 2. Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} 3.
