Solve : radeon 9800 pro problems?

Answer»

i have a 9800 pro and have recently reformatted my hard drive. since then i have had major problems with battlefield vietnam and call of duty (see screenshot for call of duty). with bf nam it doesn't display anything, not even the intro movies even though i can hear sound. there are also little purple lines in the copying window. these problems only started happening after the reformat. i have tried reinstalling the card driver but that didn't work. thanks for any helpIs this the driver that came with the card or a new one you downloaded somewhere?

What version of DirectX?i have catalyst version 6.14.10.6517(newest version) and i think directx 9.0c but im DOWNLOADING it right now anyway.thanks guys but apparently the card wasnt seated properly because i took it out then put it back in and everything works fine now.it seems i spoke too soon. neither battlefield 2 nor battfield vietnam display anything. i can hear the EA logo sound effects but the screen is completely blank. the little lines are shown also in catalyst control center. I have the same GRAPHIC card as yours silentboarder151 and i can play Call of Duty 1&2 no problem
i used to be ABLE to play anything...call of duty, battlefield 2, whatever. after i reformatted everything just f'd up.
