Answer» I tried to install some ram into my computer So I put it in next to the old one then The monitor went into what looks to be standby everytime I start it up even with the new video card or just the old video card so I bought a new one and i still stays in standby mode The CD/DVD drives work that fans are all working tried different videocards and it doesnt fix ANYTHING. I dont think I knocked anything loose doing it. Any suggestions? Also on start up it makes 3 beeps its an older gateway computer can get more details if needed.Bad or incompatable RAM, or RAM not SEATED properly are MUCH more likely than a video card that you did not change before the problem started. What is the motherboard or computer make or model and what did you buy (including ALL specifications, not just the SPEED)? Just because it fits does not MEAN it will work.
