Solve : ram order?

Answer» with 3 slots on motherboard and 512 mb capacity, does it make any DIFFERENCE what size sticks are PUT in and in what order? ie: 1 512mb, 2 128mb and 1 256 or 2 256. and also is there any difference in what order they go in slots.rgray.....I would refer to your MOBO 's manual to be certain . Your board may not accept a 512 stick in one DIMM socket . I also BELIEVE that if you are going to use say 2 of the 3 dimms ...then I would use dimm 1 and dimm 2 and have dimm 3 enmpty , but again check your MOBO 's manual . Hope this helps dl65
