Solve : Re: a magnet??

Answer»

Hey Quatro*
my "guess" and its a guess, it's there to ground the mobo or something else to the metal frame ?

I have not heard of someone GROUNDING like this especially in a computer case with the optical & harddrive so close to a MAGNET! it kinda doesn't make sense though I am sure the G-man or SOMEONE WILL HAVE A CORRECT REPSONCE THIS MORNING~ :-/What KIND of computer or motherboard, where is it affixed and even better-post a picture.absolutely "freakin" WEIRD-ONE here

no clue :-/that is a bit odd for it to be magnetic, usually there is a round metal hoop/ring through which mobo wires pass to dampen electrical interfearence, (spelt wrong I know).
manufacturers don't usally both anymore

what you say attached to the mobo , how is it attached?
maybe it's some nutters idea of an earth strap?

but...... any magnet near a hard drive is NEVER a good idea.Could it be a little PC speaker?well, all I can say that waz one of it's so obvious * :older system" that it took the Fedster* to recognize kudos to the FED !!!

i'D MOVE THAT DAM THING! Why bother to move it? He said the system has been working with no problems for YEARS, and if it IS the system speaker, it should be just fine where it is.......Well here is another thread that has gone absolutely nowhere.

Anyone over the age of 30 has known this from the start.
