Solve : read Cd drive from another??

Answer»

Hope this doesn't sound too thick!
I have an old LAPTOP which is using windows98 and only a floppy drive. I want to load some software which is on CD ROM, can I link to my PC which runs windows ME?
If so, how?

ThanksNot that I KNOW of... It would be BETTER for you just to buy an external CD ROM drive, and then you will always have it... You can link the computers, but I don't think you can share CD drives...

Share, like in network share?
Can you share drives like that over a network? I know that you can share HD's, but I NEVER heard of CD Drives...

[glb]Flame[/glb]You can share CD, Hard, Floppy, USB, internal, external, even camera media over a network.  No problem.Wow! That's more powerful then I thought... lol  Anyway... Lewyboy... Do you know how to setup a network?

[glb]Flame[/glb]No idea, I suppose I'll need cables of some kind?If you don't already have the network items it would be cheaper to buy a CD drive for the 98 computer. That is true.. Networking REQUIRES more time, effort, and hardware...
