Solve : Reading error on drive?

Answer»

I performed a AVG scan in the safe mode and found two error reports on the first two lines of the scan as:
File Result/Infection Path
Partition table (MBR) READING error
Boot sector of disk Reading Error c

Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional

OS Service Pack Service Pack 2
CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 2800 MHz (21 x 133)

Motherboard Name Hewlett-Packard HP d330 DT(DC580AV)
Motherboard Chipset Intel Springdale-G i865G

System Memory 247 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM)
BIOS Type COMPAQ (07/10/03)

I went to the section where links are provided to check for disk error but I am not sure which one I should download and USE.This is my work computer. I hope I have given all the required information. Thanking you in advance

Best Regards

Sorry but your post is a little HARD to get a grip on :-/

Your Subject says "reading error or drive". Are you referring to the AVG results?

"I went to the section where links are provided to check for disk error"

What does that mean? :-/

The above link is what I referred to. Since I got this error message while running AVG in the safe mode, I was just wondering if I should use one of those links to check my hard drive. Not sure what to do. Thanks for your time
