Solve : Really Weird :/ Please help!?

Answer»

Hi guys!

I just got a new computer, my friend built it yesterday.
Now the thing is that when i started battlefield 2, worked normally and i changed the resolution and video settings to high, and went playing,
after 20 seconds it freezed, but that problem is not a matter anymore since i change the gpu's fan to 100% it dosent happend, but still kinda strange that you have to change the fan speed on a 8800gts 320mb for it to work with BF2 on high settings

Another thing, when i was exitting nfs carbon, after chaning some GRAPHICS settings, the screen went black and computer freezed, had to reset.

Third thing, when running 3dmark06, always freezes, tried it 3 times, freezes at some point.

Oh and while im here i might ASK another thing; I have a mousepad with blue NEON hlow AROUND and 4 usb ports on the side, and it keeps on glowing even when the computer is turned off?! (didnt happend with old computer)
The specs:
Intel q6600 go (Not overclocked) & thermalright ultra 120+scythe s-flex
manli 8800 gts 320 mb (Not overclocked)
Asus P5N32-E SLI
2gb ddr2 800mhz
Thermaltake toughpower 750w
antec 900 case

Could this have to do anything with the drivers? (im quite sure i updatet the gpu's driver), and while disgussing drivers, does anybody know a FREE good
program for downloading drivers??

Thank you very much!!If that vid-card is still new and under warranty i would return it immediately for a replacement...Can you already be sure that "it is broken" ? Beacuse hl2 seems to be working (tested for a few minutes)

Can this all have to do that i have the same hard drive as i had in my old hp pavilion computer?
Because i noticed that when i ran some free driver program it found some drivers for geforce 6600 and 8800 (6600 old, ofcourse)
and fo amd 3400+ and intel q6600

I think im first gonna try with re-installing xp for all the old drivers and stuff to go away.

Good idea?A clean install certainly won't hurt...remember to assemble/collect all your other drivers such as MBoard etc. before starting. What exactly do you meen with that? I have the gpu's and the mobo's drivers on two different cd's.As long as you have ALL your drivers ready you should be good to go...its a good idea to download the latest drivers from Nvidia, then burn them on a CD. that will save you some time if you plan on reinstalling XP.

testing for a couple of minutes is not accurate, i would recommend at least 30 minutes of playing before drawing any conclusions.

in my opinion, regarding your GPU problem, it sounds as though it is overheating. have you verified that your GPU fan is, in fact, working correctly? also, what are the temps on your card?
