Solve : Recomended Brands of Motherboards? |
|
Answer» Hi all. I've been looking at motherboards for upgrades again and as per usual I've stuck with my past favorite Asus. But in recent years my personal experience with some of their boards has been rather poor. Looking at reviews for newer boards yields some interesting feed back as well; Apparently I am not alone in my experiences. The out of the box failure rate is a pretty consistent 2% among all the top brands. There was a recent study ...Price does not insure quality. Or maybe it does. Far from a definitive answer...or list i should say. Quote from: patio on AUGUST 25, 2015, 02:50:13 PM I'm curious now...which boards ahd a 50% scrapping out rate ? ? Sorry that's a typo. It should have read: "I checked the reviews which for some boards was scraping in at a measly 50% approval rating [from users]." Thanks. This is an opinion, but not just mine. The brand name of a product is only as good as the company that stands behind it. Parts and materials for desktops PCs are made mostly in the far east, with many firms not having a brand name. Marketing also plays a large factor. Features are added, not o make a product really better, but to make it more attractive to the buyer. As for the CPU, you have the choice of AMD and Intel and nothing else. Both companies have been AROUND a long time. Both companies have made mistakes. Here is a relevant topic: Does Brand Matter When I Buy Computer Parts? |
