Answer» Can anyone recomend me a good harddrive but i dont want a velociraptor not got the MONEY. (Split from another TOPIC) How much do you want to spend? What's your definition of "good" for a hard drive? Capacity/ Speed/ longevity/ Warranty? What interface do you want/what are your current specs? My PERSONAL choice is Western Digital...
No problem with me.WD sucks,,,,, likewise Samsung, Fujitsu and whatever.
The only HD's I put in any of the computers I build is Seagate or Maxtor. (now the same company).
That's based NOT on one or two PC's, but years of experience with hundreds of computers.
good luck, Shadow
Well.... I like Western Digital
SINCE my good ol' 286's 41MB Western Digital HD.
TheShadow- do you know if newer WD drives still.. err... "suck"?
(That wasn't a challenge or anything... just a query Years ago, WD was a reputable brand, but their quality and reliability has gone to #$%& the past few years. In my business, almost every HD I have to replace is a WD.
I can't afford to work from personal PREJUDICE, but from real world experience with hundreds of PC's, not just one or two.
Using only top quality products is what's kept me in business for 29 years.
Use whatever you like.
and, Good Luck,
OK... Thanks shadow I guess when this one fails I try a different brand myself as well Quote from: TheShadow on February 08, 2009, 09:20:00 AM WD sucks,,,,, likewise Samsung, Fujitsu and whatever.
I've been using WD for many years now and have had no problems with them. If you look at user reviews of hard drives on newegg.com, WD compares quite well with other brands. HA HA! just as I suspected!
