Answer» Steer CLEAR or go for it? Could there be any problems with it if it is refurbished by the manufacturer?: I mean, it would be like the laptop coming new right out of the box, right?? If that's the case, why not just sell it at near retail price? I am not quite certain what refurbished articles are. I saw a refurbished X800 for sale at http://www.ati.com for $ 199. That is less than the 9800Pro costs, even though it is more powerful. There must be something wrong. I think they are articles that people return when they are broken, the company fixes them but can't resell them as new. If that's the case, why not just sell it at near retail price? "Refurbished" can mean anything. US law requires opened box merchandise to be advertised as something other than new. Would you BUY it at near retail? $1600 is a lot for any HP notebook, new or refurbished. 90-day warranty isn't much. It's your money to waste as you wish. |
