so i reinstalled my windows xp to and now it has no SOUND. sound worked b4... and idk whats going on, there is no sound icon in the system tray and when i get to volume control through the menu it Errors with (there are no ACTIVE mixer devices available) but this coumputer has a sound input directly in the mother board!?!??! head phones dont work eather!! my coumputer is (Windows Xp) HP Pavilion a1320nyour sound driver should be on a HP discIf you dont have the disc go to the HP SITE & download the driver from thereReinstall chipset driver first.how do i know what driver i need?
yea i deff. dont have any disks ... got this pc from my g-ma (she got rid of it coz it was "too slow") but really there was just a lot of non-sence on itIntel® High Definition Audio, 8 speaker configurable (i use the c/sub) (orange) inputattucally I would do a RIGHT click on my computer go to properties and then hardware - device manger and see if there isnt any yellow ! which would indicate that your missing any. Just right click the one needed and say properties then it say reinstall driver.yes sir , thts what i did and it installed the realtek driver and sound works for itunes but not firefox or IE, youtube, myspace, AOL ... no sound for videos??? but there is also no sound for my pc itself??? like games and what not dont have sound?hmmmmm Let's make it clear. You have Windows sounds, you can play iTunes, you can play music CDs, but you don't have any sound from your browsers, correct?
