|
Answer» ERROR msg "Rundll error LOADING P17.dll" displays when I start the computer. Prior the the msg, I removed a Sound Blaster Live 24 bit PCI and the SB software and Creative Mediasource. I am changing to a USB audio INTERFACE. I also turned off the on-board audio in the BIOS. In addition to the card insertion in a 2.2 PCI slot, there was a wire pair connected to near the back. It is presently unattached Quote from: cfmoore on July 10, 2008, 12:41:46 PM In addition to the card insertion in a 2.2 PCI slot, there was a wire pair connected to near the back. It is presently unattached is the other end of that wire pair connected to your CD(or DVD)drive or your motherboard? The other end of the wire disconnected from the sound card wire is connected the cd-rw.P17.sys is a part of the driver for SBLive, Audigy, and X-Fi cards. Did you run the uninstaller for the driver? Since p17.sys is a driver for one of these cards, it has a tendency to expect the sound card to be present.I UNINSTALLED the SB software through the "Remove Programs" via the "Control Panel" Can the uninstall be done another way? CCleaner can help you unistall it and it will delete the reg entries that the unistallation left behind. and about that wire, your going to need to plug it into your on-board Audio since that wire is for the sound output from the CD-RW drive. |
