Solve : Replacing integrated video card with no monitor??

Answer»

I have installed a new video card to replace the failed integrated one but how can I do anything at all when I get no picture on the monitor? I bought a new cable, tried connecting to both video cards and even tried putting in the SOFTWARE but can't do anything without a picture. I ALSO tried a different monitor and had no picture with it either. I READ I am supposed to disable the old card before connecting to the new one but as I said, I can't do anything on a blank screen. Hewlitt Packard was no help and sent me to the company who MADE the new video card but they are no longer in business. I am at a loss.
If the vid card co is no longer in business i would suspect problems down the road...but you said it was new.
Where did you purchase it ? ?
Also provide more details on what happened leading up to the onboard video failure...
And Welcome Aboard !Many motherboards automatically detect if a video card is in a slot and, in that situation, disable the onboard video part of the motherboard chipset, and switch to the video card. It is possible that if the onboard video hardware is damaged that this does not happen. In that case the motherboard could be junk. Realistically, if the onboard video has failed, the motherboard has failed.

Before tossing it I would try going into the BIOS at startup and see if the act of doing that BRINGS up anything on the monitor.
