Solve : rescue hard disk?

Answer»

hello,
my hard disk (working under XP) crashed and it says boot unmountable. i had created 2 PARTITIONS one with system and the other with data.
i wanted to rescue my data via ms-dos but it was impossible to do anything. i had to buy an external HDD and i was able to save the data located on the 2d partition.
now, i would like to rescue a few things on the other one, more precisely in the My Documents directory, but when i click on the partition through explorer, it doesn't work.
how to do it (without being FORCED to buy an expensive recovery data software)?

thanksI kinda had the same problem at 1 time, couldn't find any answers, so I went here: www.spotmau.com and bought the software. It let me clone the files I wanted from the partioned HD to a new HD. All worked out pretty well. There is alot of other helpful stuff on that software also.Right clik My Computer and select Manage...then Disk MANAGEMENT...find the partition and right clik it and select Properties and POST back with the details here...
