Solve : (Resolved) Problem with video card.? |
|
Answer» I was installing a Wireless internet card into my PC but was having trouble due to my Video card being in the way. I took out my video card, put in my wireless internet card, reinserted my video card and started my computer back up to find out that I wasn't getting any video on my Monitors. I then plugged one of my monitors into the integrated video connection that i don't use anymore, it worked, it gave me full display on the monitor. The thing is, i don't want my video coming from the integrated video connection, but rather my video card located in my PCI slot. How do I go about doing this? I uninstalled the stuff that i installed when installing the video card the first go around, then went through the instructions that came with it. It didn't work. When installing the software/drivers i get this message: You may want to install updates for your motherboard to ensure that the Thats what I got in my email. Any idea what to search for? I have no clue what I should be looking for..Go to Dell site, enter your service ticket#, and it'll tell you what downloads are available.Quote from: Broni on January 18, 2008, 07:00:10 PM Go to Dell site, enter your service ticket#, and it'll tell you what downloads are available. Thanx Broni, but apparently I did have a clue and went to Dell before I read your post. I found a few things to download, installed them, cleaned up my PC with the Dell cleanup thing while I was at it. After all this was done I decided to try one more time to see if I could get the video card to work, so I went into device manager and disabled the integrated video and restarted the computer. The PC restarted and went into the boot scan or w/e that I had checked when doing the cleanup. Once this was done Vista began to boot and STAYED at the little load screen for quite some time. I then got tired of waiting so I held the power button TILL it cut off, pressed the power button to start it up and the monitor I had left plugged into the card that wasn't working cut on! I was ecstatic! It was working! Thanks to all the help guys! I'm not touching that card ever again... I'm glad, it worked for you |
