Answer» I have windows XP, SP3. I had a virus and was loading "stopzilla" AV. While loading that NEW program, I was deleting McAfee AV and my system went into a reboot loop. I F8, and attempted to go into safe mode. when I went into safemode, the system rebooted and went back to options of safemode, I could not getinto my system.
I did a emergency START up and did a recovery, the recovery point was from inception in 2007. Why it did not read any of my recovery points I had set, I don't know.
I proceeded with the recovery, it copied all data on my HDD, I have a 50 GB HDD. The entire drive showed up as full, I deleted pictures and general files, which deleted the copy and the original. Seeing this I stopped deleting my data. I loaded my new AV, and MS Office programs.
My system is working, and I can get into it, I have LOST my home network, but the wireless system is working.
I am defragmenting the drive CURRENTLY.
How do I get my system back to having available disk space on my HDD?
My current programs are MS office, Stopzilla, a couple of printers and MS streets and trips. Any ideas?
Thank you

Is this a "branded" computer (HP. Dell, etc.)? You did a Recovery, not a Windows System Restore, 2 completely different things. You now have 2 Windows installations. I don't know how to delete one without the other. Read you manuals, they may offer a clue.brand is HP Intel Core 2 CPU T5600 1.83GHz 1.83 GHz, 2.49 GB ram 50 GB HDD

They all have Recovery partitions, which confirms what you did. Maybe this will help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recovery_discThank you CC, I'll give it a try. cant hurt much more than I do on this.
