Answer» I had a previous laptop in for repair that did not materialise and therefore got my original hard drive back complete with the XP operating SYSTEM on with files etc intact. I have purchased a 'caddy' and have connected the old H/D to my current laptop via a USB 2 CABLE and it shows as a G drive and the files can be seen. In 'my documents' are photo's of my holiday this year that I want to get off of it. As the old h/d contains the XP system on (PASSWORD PROTECTED) I cannot get access to the my documents file. My question is how do I do this as I cannot boot up from this external drive can I??You don't need to be that extreme.
