Solve : router help?

Answer»

I just got a
Belkin N Wireless Router.
Model F5D8236 – 4 V 2.
Data Transfer Rate 300 Mbps

I have it all hockedup and now I just have to get a Netbook that I will use with it.

If I am right I don't have to get my netbook first to be able to configure the Router RIGHT???

I meen it is hookedup to my Desktop PC so I sould be able to I think access the Firmware and setup things like Password and Netwirk Names and things like this RIGHT???

Can someone tell me How do do this thanksYeah, you can use the web interface, as long as you using a wired connection. Don't ever trust wireless connections when you want to configure you're router.

Try using this ^^First I did try the web site for INFORMATION and it does not work the documents download and they don't oen.

And I will be useing a Netbook to connect Wirelessly to the Router.

But right now the Router is connected to my desktop through a CAT wire.

I thought I could just open my Browser and type in some numbers and that gets me into the Firmware???Yeah, it's an IP address, generally default IP's for home routers are 192.168.1.1

I'm not familiar with the default Belkin logins... you should be able to Google it THOUGH. Just type in that IP in your browser. It'll bring you to a web GUI. I KNOW for Linksys, the username, leave blank and the password is admin. I never REALLY liked Belkin much which is why I'm unfamiliar with their setup. What is it you are trying to do? You should not have to configure anything in the router.
