Make sure the CPU fits exactly on the motherboard so that you do not bend any of the pins. Hi pcdoc4christ. Many thanks for a very quick response. I'm taking my old AT and thought I would give it an END of life resuscitation (it's already had various mid life updates while it was my old PC) and then hand it down to my wife for email and word processing. I've acquired a new motherboard with K6-2 350 for a penny on eBay. Just about to power it up. If it works I'll then LOOK for a 450 or 550 processor on ebay and try it out.
